The checklist helps organisations verify that the indicators they have chosen are genuinely useful: that they are relevant to the social change being addressed, clearly defined, feasible to measure, comparable over time, and actionable — meaning they can actually guide decisions rather than just satisfy reporting requirements. Alongside the checklist, the document provides concrete examples of data collection methods and data sources as a source of inspiration for organisations building their first M&E approach.
