The "Carrier" performance about the south of Ukraine, which in the first days of a full-scale invasion was occupied by Russian military

Vision of the project

The play "The Carrier" was created to document the crimes committed by Russian military forces against Ukrainians in the south of Ukraine, which was occupied in the early days of the full-scale invasion. The play aimed to reflect on the experiences and continue the dialogue on the country's recovery.

"The Carrier" was a joint project between the Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after M. Kulish and the Mykolaiv Academic Artistic Drama Theatre. Written by Nina Zakhozhenko and directed by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Serhiy Pavliuk, the play's results included a press conference in Mykolaiv and three premiere performances at the Mykolaiv theatre.

Following each performance, there were three post-performance meetings to discuss the play, share experiences, and explore the restoration of the regions and the country as a whole. Proposals for the restoration of the regions and the country were formulated and published on the Kulish Theatre's social media and in the media.
