atmosfair Smart Travel Tool

A door-to-door journey planner (currently in beta) from atmosfair, a German non-profit best known for its flight-emissions calculator and carbon offsetting projects.

Given a start and end location, the tool searches and compares connections across train and night train, car, plane, and long-distance bus, estimating journey time, ticket price, and CO₂ emissions for each option, and lets users sort results by carbon footprint, cost, or travel time.

Custom settings allow the search to be tailored to individual travel preferences. Like EcoPassenger, it offers a concrete, multi-modal comparison to support the kind of travel decision-making promoted in Green Mobility in Arts and Culture training — but with the added practical value of also surfacing real connections and price estimates, not just emissions figures, making it useful for organisations actually planning a specific trip rather than only assessing one after the fact.
