Fundraising and Donor Relations: Trainer Presentation Slides

Author: Fairooz Tamimi

The slide deck used by Fairooz Tamimi during ZMINA:Resilience Capacity Building Webinar #4: Fundraising and Donor Relations.

The presentation walks through the full fundraising journey structured around four stages — Research, Connect, Apply, and Maintain — covering: what makes fundraising strategic rather than reactive; the European funding landscape (public funders, private foundations, corporate sponsors, and individual donors) and criteria for a good fit; how to build and maintain a living donor database; the key components of a grant proposal and application writing dos and don'ts; and how to sustain donor relationships beyond reporting through consistency, transparency, and active engagement. The closing section addresses pitching: how to communicate a project compellingly in one minute, with a structure and a golden rule — is it clear in 30 seconds?

The session included two group exercises (developing a fundraising plan and a pitching practice) that are referenced in the slides but play out in full in the video recording, which is the primary source for Fairooz's commentary and feedback.
