Vision of the project

The purpose of the project was to build cultural and social bridges between the Ukrainian and German music communities. The goal was to establish strong international connections through music collaborations, workshops, and panel discussions, where representatives from all fields of the music industry would not only share art and experience but also engage with one another in the process of creation and future cooperation.

The project aimed to provide a physical platform for these activities, supported by a strong communication strategy from both the Ukrainian and German sides; engage not only musicians but also specialists from the industry to create a platform for networking and elevating the presence of Ukrainian music culture worldwide; and produce a product of the collaboration—a digital music release—to give the project a longer lifetime.

Meet the Key Partner

XJAZZ, born in 2014, has revolutionized the German jazz scene with its independent and grassroots spirit. The festival breaks conventions and expands the definition of jazz, providing a platform for artists, both established and emerging, to express themselves freely. Its diverse lineup spans a wide range of musical styles beyond traditional jazz. Festival‘s area is located in Berlin's vibrant Kreuzberg neighborhood and includes 12 venues.

From the onset, the festival has been conceived with an international outlook, ​with editions having already taken place in Reykjavik, Tel Aviv, Istanbul and Minsk. Other collaborations have taken place e.g. in Barcelona, Wroclaw, Budapest & Lisbon. ​
