Goal of the project is to create a visible and attractive sustainable concept for a residential area that will take into account all the factors of change that need to rethink living spaces for their effective functioning and communication with nature and humans. The existence of successful and effective examples of active and passive quarters in other more economically developed countries clearly shows the needs of society and the natural environment for such solutions and how to implement them. The environmental and economic situation not only in Ukraine, but also in many other countries requires a rethinking of approaches to organizing housing and its efficient and sustainable provision.
The need for such transformations is also obvious against the background of the russian military aggression on the territory of Ukraine, as a result of which we have multiple damages to the energy supply systems of cities and residential districts, and with them the destruction of the lives of their residents.
Issues of security, uninterrupted supply of resources necessary for people, as well as scaling and spreading of Ukrainian culture in all spheres of activity and daily life of every Ukrainian, are now among the fundamental issues for the sustainable development of the country.
For our project, we chose a residential area of the city of IZYUM, located in the Kharkiv region. The recent history of this long-suffering city, which was under occupation from the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine until September 10, 2022, can deeply distort the atmosphere and the usual life of its residents for many years. We realize how important it is to deal with such oppressed regions of Ukraine and to raise the spirit of the residents with the help of new bright perspectives and tasks that they bring with them.
