A searchable database of more than 50 case studies from Culture for Climate Scotland — the organisation behind Webinar by trainer Caro Overy Climate-Forward Culture: Practical Sustainability — connecting arts and culture with climate action.
Entries can be filtered by 24 subject tags, including 'Touring', 'Transport/Travel', 'Waste', 'Energy', 'Buildings', 'Climate Justice' and 'Climate Change Adaptation', and by organisational type, such as individual artist, cultural organisation, local/national government, NGO or private sector.
Case studies range from artists embedded in non-arts institutions (transport departments, waste and water utilities, environmental NGOs) to theatres and touring companies addressing their own environmental footprint, community-based woodland and land projects, and climate justice work in the global South (Amazonia, Vietnam, Colombia, Brazil).
Several projects referenced directly in the Climate-Forward Culture: Practical Sustainability webinar — including Glasgow Women's Library, Sea Change, and Clyde Rebuilt — have full write-ups here, making this a natural extension of that session's content for anyone wanting more concrete examples of practical, sector-specific climate action in culture.
