Ukrainian Drama Week Festival

Vision of the project

The Ukrainian Drama Week Festival aimed to present four plays by Ukrainian contemporary and classic playwrights on the French theatrical stage. These plays were performed as theatrical readings by French actors, showcasing the richness and depth of Ukrainian drama.

The primary purposes of the festival included the adaptation of Ukrainian plays for French-speaking stages, thereby making them accessible to a wider audience. It also sought to build a sustainable and recognisable reputation for Ukrainian theatre and playwrights, fostering an appreciation of their work. Another key aim was to create meaningful connections between Ukrainian and French theatre environments, encouraging collaboration and cultural exchange. Additionally, the festival contributed to the creation of a comprehensive library of translated Ukrainian plays, ensuring their availability for future performances and studies in French-speaking regions.

Meet the key Partner

The Applicant organization Charitable organization "Charitable Foundation "The Depths of Arts" (DOFA FUND) has been engaged in cultural networking since 2014. For 10 years, the DOFA FOUNDATION has been developing multidisciplinary interregional and international projects, educational and networking programs for culture managers from different regions of Ukraine;international residency programs for artists and cultural managers, exhibition projects, analytical research. DOFA FUND has cooperated with more than 170 public organizations, cultural initiatives, museums, theaters, galleries and more than 800 artists, researchers and researchers, cultural managers and managers from Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the USA, etc. In total, more than 400 events were organized, visited by more than 50,000 people.
