Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava

Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (STL, Independent Dance Stage) is a dance performance and development center. STL’s vision is to focus on contemporary dance art in its various forms of expression. In addition to performances, STL organizes movement workshops, creative residencies, lectures, Dance Marathon, PREMIERE platform for emerging dance artists, artists’ short forms evening Greenfield, the Baltic Dance Platform and many others. The Independent Dance Association (Sõltumatu Tantsu Ühendus, STÜ) is a dance art development organization established in 2005, which supports the creative and performance activities of freelance dance artists and creative troupes by providing artistic activity output, development opportunities and administrative support for artists who meet the goals and visions of STÜ. 

Yearly, STL produces around 6-8 dance-performances, and performs them more than 170 times in Estonia and internationally. STL is collaborating with more than 150 artists worldwide from Estonia up to Japan, presenting approximately 170 performances a year, and offering performances to more than 9000 visitors a year. During these years, STL has brought up a loyal audience, which is still increasing. 

STL serves the residencies with administrative and technical support, as well as professional feedback, by local cultural authorities, and other local active artists.
