Pictoric

Public Organisation Pictoric - is a society of illustrators, graphic designers, and artists who express their creativity, originality, and authentic style through the means and techniques proper to current trends and tendencies in visual arts. Pictoric's mission is to develop and promote illustration as a quality product with high aesthetic, social, and cultural value, to develop and build an international community of artists and curators, and to represent Ukrainian illustration abroad. As a union of young and successful arts professionals, the Pictoric organizes art exhibitions, master classes, lectures, round tables, etc. One of the most critical roles of Pictoric is the facilitator in collaboration between the artists and publishers when the Illustrators Club first promotes young and creative artists.

Pictoric was established in 2014, and since then has created many international and national projects involving illustrators from Ukraine and abroad. Among the most notable projects are "Prominent Ukrainians," "Yellow & Blue," "By the Way, life is Wonderful," "Face to Face: Human Rights in the Digital Age," "Trust, but Verify: media literacy in Ukrainian society," as well as the annual international exhibition of illustrations and lectures at the largest book festival "Book Arsenal" in Ukraine.

Pictoric also actively collaborated with International partners, among the most significant projects were "Ukrainian Garden" - Exhibition of Ukrainian Illustration in the National Library of Youth, Seoul, South Korea (2020) and "Eyes on Ukraine" - a special program about Ukrainian Illustration on Torino Graphic Days Festival (2021), Graphic Design Lab - educational online platform organized in collaboration with Polish Graphic Design (2022). One of the most significant published projects curated by Pictoric is the book "Illustration in Ukraine" (2021) by CP Publishing.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, most of the Pictoric projects were concentrated on two main goals - spreading information about Russian atrocities in Ukraine and fighting Russian propaganda. One of the projects - "Support Ukraine" - was actively shown all over the world, with more than 80 exhibitions in different countries, including the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Germany, USA, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Hungary, Finland etc.

Since its foundation, Pictoric organized more than 150 exhibitions all over the world and collaborated with a range of partners, including museums, galleries, and non-profit artistic organizations such as - Book Arsenal, Lustr Festival, the Frankfurt Book Fair, Bologna Children's Book Fair, Ukrainskyi Dim, TSUM, Torino Graphic Books Days, Ukrainian Institute (New York), International Jugendbibliothek, Pictoplasma conference, Frame festival, Erlangen Comic Salon, Troisdorf Bilderbuchmuseum, Gallery K21, Festival Eastern European Design and many others.
