Mystetskyi Arsenal
Mystetskyi Arsenal (MA) is a public cultural institution that incorporates a variety of artistic disciplines into its institutional activity. Its projects focus on discussing issues that are important for society and provide space for free creativity concerning the future and comprehension of the past. The mission of Mystetskyi Arsenal is to create interactions between people, communities, and institutions that empower an individual and society.
The institution's main audiences are:
- the general public - exhibition and public events attendees, consisting of city residents, IDPs, and foreigners; digital users;
- practicing and emerging Ukrainian artists, within and outside of the country;
- the community of cultural sector professionals - curators, researchers, museum workers, and others
Museum function
The museum function of the institution also involves research, exhibition, and collection management work. It aims at developing conceptual solutions for the interpretation of collections and implementing new forms of collection management standards. The Mystetskyi Arsenal's collection is at the core of its museum activity, numbering 9,081 objects.
Educational component
All projects of Mysteskyi Arsenal include a strong educational component. Arsenal acts as a medium between the experts and the general public - it tells about cultural and social phenomena and explains their reasons and trajectories. It is a platform for education and interaction of diverse audiences: adult visitors, children and adolescents, artists, and cultural workers.
